Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I have to buy in or make a long term commitment?
No. We lease our apartments on a month to month basis.
What happens when I need more care?
One of the many great things about Sun Valley Lodge is the continuum of care we offer. Our living options include independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and our new campus wide Parkinson’s Program, all on one campus. This means that our residents will receive care expressly tailored to meet their needs. This also means that a patient recovering from an illness, accident or surgery can ease back into an independent lifestyle while receiving individualized attention and optimal care.
Sun Valley Lodge offers convenience in care if our residents require rehabilitation. We partner with home health agencies to support the recuperation process by having these services provided in our resident’s own apartments. Another option is for the resident to temporarily go on Sun Valley Lodge Assisted Living Respite Care services, which are provided in our Inn Living Apartments.
What if I have an emergency?
Our caregivers are on duty 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies for independent residents. We provide call buttons in bedrooms and bathrooms, and all residents are issued a call pendant that they can wear. We also provide 24 hour maintenance service, so a maintenance staff member is always available.
If I need assisted living services, will I be required to move?
No. One of the benefits of the Sun Valley Lodge Community is an Inn Living Independent Resident can easily add assisted living services without moving to a new apartment. Garden Apartment residents have the option of bringing in outside care from a private duty caregiver, or moving to one of our Inn Living Apartments, so that they can receive assisted living services from our care giving staff.
What is Respite Care?
Respite Care is for residents who have either had a significant change in condition, or who have recently been hospitalized and are in need of short term assisted living care services. Our Respite Care is provided in your own Inn Living Apartment and charged at a daily rate. For Garden Apartment Residents Respite Care is available in one of our fully furnished studio apartments or in our Health Care Center. Sun Valley Lodge offers two levels of Respite Care, depending on a resident’s care needs. Respite Care also includes daily meals, weekly housecleaning and all utilities (except phone and internet services).
Are religious services available?
Yes. We hold nondenominational services every Sunday in our beautiful chapel. We also have monthly bible studies and monthly Catholic Communion Services. Holy Communion is provided occasionally for our Catholic residents by visiting Eucharistic Ministers. A Rosary Service is also held twice a month. Other spiritual needs can be arranged by contacting our activities department.
Is there a beauty shop?
Yes. We have a beauty shop in the central section of the Lodge that is open three days a week. In addition to the beauticians, a barber visits monthly.
