Lewis & Clark: The Arizona Connection at Sun Valley Lodge

Sun City, Arizona – Monday, March 21, 2011 – Sun Valley Lodge will open their third annual Discover Arizona series on Thursday, March 31st at 10:00 AM with a program entitled “Lewis & Clark: The Arizona Connection.”

Historian Todd Weber will return to the Lodge in period attire, to recount the successes and perils of the Corps of Discovery as they journeyed to the Pacific in their epic 1804 expedition. Among the many historical items discussed, audiences will discover the little known history of Sacagawea’s son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, who went on to become one of the most interesting and foremost figures in early Arizona history.

Marketing Director Mike Kloberdanz said, “We are very excited to have Mr. Weber open our series. His passion for Arizona history is infectious and he puts on a great show.”
